Manager, Strategic Marketing Solutions - New York City, NY

Zinio is the leader in digital magazine production, distribution and sales with an online global newsstand/retail site that sells thousands of publications. Zinio has partnerships with over 300 publishers including Hearst, Rodale, Hachette Filipacchi and other leaders in magazine publishers. Our revitalized Strategic Marketing Solutions department is an in-house marketing team that consults directly with publishers to help them meet their goals through innovative and strategic marketing programs. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative team player with knowledge and experience in online marketing. Experience in publishing and/or circulation growth/management is a plus for this position. The role will initially be focused on executing and reporting on campaigns, but has the potential to quickly evolve into a strategic and client facing role as the team grows.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing subscription growth and audience development campaigns
  • Executing marketing campaigns, including email marketing, online advertising/marketing, search, social networking and print programs
  • Compiling program and campaign results into client-facing reports
  • Managing and coordinating vendor relationships
  • Writing creative briefs and tracking creative projects for on-time delivery
  • Coordinating promotions and projects internally on Zinio.com for publishers including writing technical requirements, tracking and prioritizing with Zinio's technical and retail teams
  • Managing and updating internal documents such as status sheets and project calendars
  • Managing and contributing to Zinio's blog by managing data feeds, posting articles and tracking results
  • Contributing to and managing other Zinio marketing projects as needed

Requirements:

The qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • Knowledge and experience with Email Marketing and Web Analytics Platforms
  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of basic online and email marketing metrics
  • Experience managing and running concurrent external online and email marketing campaigns
  • Experience with subscription growth, acquisition and/or audience development campaigns
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Experience in preparing client or externally facing documents
  • Experience with writing copy and with approving creative elements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The desire to work creatively and to grow into a strategic role
  • Enthusiasm for marketing and an interest in the online marketing industry

Vice President, ecommerce - San Francisco, CA

Zinio is a retailer representing a combination of the world's most well-established and recognized magazine and textbooks names in the global marketplace as well as the most innovative and demanded up- and-coming niche magazines. The company is seeking a Vice President, eCommerce/Direct to assume responsibility for the strategic direction, management and its subsequent operation, sales, profitability and expansion.

He/she will be responsible for the following:

  • Serve as Division leader, responsible for all aspects of the operation, including P&L
  • As a dedicated, strategic subject matter expert and working with the executive team and business leaders to build a world-class online shopping experience
  • Overseeing full lifecycle development and operational initiatives for the comprehensive eCommerce/Direct platform and consumer marketing staff
  • Leading strategic architecture in conjunction with the product marketing and engineering teams while overseeing marketing, design, merchandising, sales and extensions to promote significant top line sales growth
  • Managing and leveraging all cross-functional partnerships throughout the organization, including bricks & mortar departments (merchandising, marketing, operations, logistics, fulfillment), as well as external resources and vendors
  • Prioritizing key business initiatives and maintaining project plans accordingly

  • Developing web marketing strategies, objectives and implementation
  • Creating and managing the budget for all eCommerce activities for the company
  • Driving online strategy to achieve short and long-term goals focused on profitable top line sales growth

Requirements

The qualified candidate must possess the following:
  • Direct consumer online retail operations experience including strategy, development, online marketing and ecommerce merchandising
  • Experience in a leadership role with full P&L responsibility
  • Prior experience revitalizing or launching new ecommerce functions for a retail (B2C) enterprise, particularly while utilizing external resources
  • Excellent industry relationships with vendors, suppliers and key industry thought leaders
  • Excellent online marketing and merchandising skills
  • Strategic minded leader; an "guru"/thought leader recognized in the industry
  • Ability to build consensus and influence executive leadership, cross-functional teams and external resources
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong analytical capabilities
  • Demonstrated track record to deliver a build with tight deadlines and manage to achieve success within aggressive timeframes
  • Bachelor's degree required
