| Getting Publications Buying a Publication Publications are available for purchase through the Zinio website. To go there, click the Zinio Newsstand button on the top toolbar, or go to www.zinio.com using your Web browser. At the Zinio site, select the items you'd like to buy, then follow the prompts through the order process. Downloading a Publication Once you've completed your purchase and installed Zinio Reader, Zinio Delivery Manager will automatically download your publications to your computer and place them in your Library. To view the publication(s) you've downloaded, click the Library button on the top toolbar. Your publications can also be found in your My Zinio Library folder under My Documents folder. If you've ordered a magazine subscription, Zinio will notify you by email when each new issue is available for download. Zinio Delivery Manager will also keep you posted. When you are online, the Delivery Manager will periodically check the Zinio server and display a pop-up window on your desktop if it finds an available publication. You can then choose whether to download the publication right away or wait until later. To check for pending publications downloads any time, connect to the Internet, then click the Options button on the top toolbar in Zinio Reader and select Check for Publications from the menu that appears. Opening a Publication There are two ways you can open your publications: Open the Zinio Reader and click the Library button on the top toolbar . You can also go to My Documents > My Zinio Library in Windows Explorer and double-click on the publication you'd like to read. Double-click on the publication thumbnail (or row, if you're in the List view) to open the file. Return to top Reading Publications One Key Reading With Zinio Reader 3, you can navigate an entire publication with just one key. While zooming, use the space bar to scroll your view down the page, and then turn to the next page. Page turns automatically occur as you reach the bottom right corner of the right-hand page. Searching for Keywords To search for text within a publication:
You can press Enter to toggle between standard Browse and Read magnification levels. Zinio Reader will automatically size the pages to fit the dimensions of your screen. To get additional levels of magnification, follow these steps:
Insert cards (often promotional) are cards of varied sizes that can be flipped just like regular pages. To flip an insert card, move your mouse toward the outer edge of the card until the cursor's appearance changes to a page icon, then click. Gatefolds are pages that fold out to be larger than a regular page. They can be flipped just like other pages. To open a gatefold, move your mouse toward the inside edge of the page until the cursor's appearance changes to a page icon, then click. Zinio Reader supports a variety of rich media content (including audio, video, and animations), bringing enhanced interactivity to ads and editorial content. Some media elements are designed to play automatically, while others play only upon command. When you come to a page containing manual-play media, an audio or video icon will flash three times to alert you, then disappear. The icon will reappear if you mouse over the media, or return to the page. To play any media, simply click on the audio or video icon that appears. Depending on the media type, you may find that keyboard and mouse-click behavior is altered while it is playing. To stop the media from playing, turn the page. Return to top Changing the Level of Magnification Zinio Reader automatically sizes each publication to fit the dimensions of your screen for quick browsing and more in-depth reading. You can adjust the level of magnification it uses on "First Zoom" to create a more comfortable reading experience.
You can expand the size of Zinio Reader to occupy your entire screen by pressing the F11 key. The top and bottom toolbars will disappear. To return to regular viewing mode, press F11 again. You can view your publications in a one- or two-page format. Here's how to change your settings:

We've added hyperlinks throughout your digital publications to make them easy to navigate and to bring added interactivity to ads and editorial content. You may or may not want to see the links displayed. You can change your settings by pressing L on your keyboard, or:
Some media content is designed to play automatically when you turn to the page where it appears. If you prefer, you can play all media on command. Here's how to change your settings:

Return to top By default, when you open a publication to which you have added notes, highlights, or ink drawings, Zinio Reader displays a dialog box listing these annotations. To view a particular annotation, double-click its name in the list, or select it and then click Go To. You can also hide the annotations list. To do this, click the Options button on the top toolbar, and then select Show Annotation List from the menu that appears. You can choose to hide or display the highlighting, notes and ink drawings you've added to a publication. Here's how to change your settings:
To print the pages you see on your screen, click the Print button in the top toolbar. To print additional pages, flip to them and click the Print button again. Note: This feature may not be available for some publications, because the publisher may choose to restrict the printing rights for a particular publication. You can invite your friends and colleagues to download a free copy of your publication. Just follow these simple steps.
To share your annotations, email them to your friend as an attachment. If your friend already owns the publication, doubleclicking on the annotations file will open the publication and display your notes and highlights. Otherwise, it will prompt your friend to download a copy. Note: Ifthe Send to Friend button is grayed out, this feature is not available. The publisher may choose to restrict the sharing rights of a particular publication. Return to top Managing Your Collection Display Options To show thumbnails in your Library, click the Thumbnail button on the top toolbar. To show your publications in a list view, click the List button on the top toolbar To sort your publications, click the Sort drop-down menu and choose to sort by Date or by Publication Name. To delete a publication, select it, then click the Trash button on the toolbar. If you want to delete more than one publication, hold down the Ctrl key as you click on each additional publication, then click the Trash button. To delete a consecutive range of publications, click the first publication, then hold down the Shift key as you click the last publication in the range, then click the Trash button. Note: If you delete a publication accidentally, you can always download it again from the Your Zinio Account area of www.zinio.com. Customizing Zinio Delivery Manager By default, Zinio Delivery Manager will automatically check for and download any new publications when you are connected to the Internet.You can customize the Delivery Manager settings to specify when it starts up and how you want to be notified about available publications. To update your preferences:
You may install and use Zinio Reader on more than one machine (at work and home, for example). However, the Zinio Delivery Manager will automatically download your publications only once, to whichever machine is online when the Delivery Manager checks to see if you have new publications available. To avoid this confusion, set your primary computer to automatically download publications, and turn automatic delivery off on all other machines. On the computer you want to use for downloading publications, follow these steps:

Although Zinio Reader will automatically download a publication only once, you can download the publication a second time if you accidentally delete it from your system, or if you want to read it on a different computer. To download a publication again, follow these steps:
