Zinio, LLC and Wayport to deliver digital magazines on the road for business travelers
BusinessWeek Trial Issue To Be Available Via Wi-Fi And Wired High-Speed Net At Major U.S. Hotels, Airports And Retail Locations
Brisbane, CA & Austin, TX (July 22, 2003) - Zinio, LLC, Inc., the market leader in delivering digital magazines for major publishing partners, and Wayport, the leading provider of Wi-Fi (802.11b) wireless and wired high-speed Internet access in more than 650 locations, including 565 hotels, 13 airports and 75 San Francisco Bay Area McDonald's, today announced an agreement to deliver digital magazines at Wayport's partner locations nationwide in coming weeks.
The only desktop software that delivers a full magazine reading experience to computer screens, Zinio is the first to bring more than 70 titles from 30 publishers to wireless and wired Internet networks of leading U.S. hotels, airports and retail venues via the Wayport network. As part of an agreement between Zinio and Wayport, the current issue of BusinessWeek will be available on a trial basis for Wayport customers by simply downloading issues at participating Wayport partner locations. In addition, customers who purchase a subscription to the digital edition of BusinessWeek via the Wayport network will receive a $25 Wayport prepaid connection card.
Based on extensive market research, Wayport has uncovered a strong demand
by business travelers to receive business news and information on the
road in the same familiar format as print. "Digital delivery of magazines
represents the future for busy travelers," said Dan Lowden, Vice

Zinio and Wayport plan to reach Wayport's extensive customer base with digitally delivered magazines available from Wayport's Wi-Fi and wired network, which to date has recorded more than 2.7 million customer connections. "The always-connected business traveler has created new demand for when and where they receive their favorite magazine," explained Jeff Bruce, Sr. Vice President of Marketing for Zinio, LLC

The Zinio Reader also will deliver single copies or subscriptions
