March 17, 2010 – New York – Sporting News Today, the country’s first and only daily digital sports newspaper, and Zinio, the world’s newsstand, announce a partnership to launch the preeminent, daily, sports-news product, designed specifically for all digital distribution platforms.

The new product will deliver the most comprehensive sports content every day at 6am on Zinio’s pay-once-read-everywhere “UNITY” platform. This approach maximizes the presence of Sporting News Today and engages avid fans in an interactive, touch-screen enabled interface, wherever they are and on whatever device they have (PC, Mac, netbook, touch-screen and tablet devices).

“Since our 2008 launch, Sporting News Today has been at the forefront of digital news-delivery innovations,” said Jeff Price, President and Publisher of Sporting News. “As digital reading and mobile markets continue to evolve, we’re excited to partner with Zinio, the global leader in this area, and deliver a daily, packaged, interactive experience to avid fans.”

In addition to the groundbreaking features already available on Sporting News Today, Zinio’s "UNITY" platform enables readers to customize and personalize their reading experience, as well as navigate through an interactive sports environment. With full scoreboards, stats, rotating image galleries, sports video highlights from CineSport, guest columns from athletes, coaches and industry executives, the new Sporting News Today is the ultimate destination for passionate fans. Other benefits include search, bookmarking, clipping and social sharing.

Sporting News already offers an innovative way to share sports highlights with avid fans with their daily, digital journal. Now, they are poised to take the conversation to the next level by expanding into more interactive, personalized and global initiatives,” said Rich Maggiotto, President & CEO, Zinio. “Leveraging Zinio’s 'UNITY' platform for content design and distribution, we share with sporting fans the great expectations they can enjoy in this revolutionized reading experience.”

The daily subscription will cost $2.99/month beginning April 1st, which will include a 60-day free trial and provide users access to their digital entitlement across all "UNITY-powered" distribution channels and devices, including the iPad. Jeff Price will formally introduce and showcase the product at the 2010 IMG World Congress of Sports on March 18th in Los Angeles.
