Zinio.com Delivers 55 Million Digital Magazines and Recognizes 154% Annual Growth in Paid Digital Magazine Transactions
Single Copy Sales of Digital Magazines Grow More Than 166% in One Year.
San Francisco, CA and New York, NY (October 18, 2006) - Zinio, LLC announced today that its digital newsstand Zinio.com has delivered more than 55 million digital magazines since 2002. In addition, the site has seen more than 154% growth in transactions per month for the first 8 months of 2006, compared to the first 8 months of 2005. Monthly transactions include both subscription sales and single copy sales, which have grown on average more than 166% compared to year earlier levels.
Today, the Zinio.com digital newsstand shows growth in number of unique visitors per month of more than 170% from 2005. The approximately 3.4 million registered users on Zinio.com purchase digital content for leading magazines such as BusinessWeek, Macworld, Playboy, Car & Driver, and Elle.
Top magazine publishers have seen steady growth in paid orders for digital titles. On average, Zinio.com site visitors conduct more than 21,500 transactions each month, contributing to the delivery of more than 10.9 million magazines between January 1 and August 31, 2006.
