San Francisco, CA (October 30, 2007) - Zinio LLC, the leading digital publishing and distribution platform for magazines and books, has partnered again with Disney's Hollywood Records to provide the new CDVU+ (pronounced "CD view plus") technology on its latest album release. CDVU+ replaces the traditional CD booklet/jewel case, while still offering an unprecedented amount of content.
With CDVU+ fans will be offered an easy-to-navigate digital magazine format that includes:
- A rich-media magazine offering exclusive content that is printable and can be downloaded and then accessed both on and offline.
- Song lyrics, different video segments with the band, behind the scenes footage.
- Printable photos of the band.
- Customizable autographed poster creator where fans can upload their own image into different band scenarios.
- Special hidden links to exclusive content only available via CDVU+.
- CDVU+ is eco-friendly: 100% recycled material (35% post-consumer).
"We're making the CD exciting again and based on the success of the last Jonas Brothers album containing CDVU+ technology, we will continue to provide fans a closer interaction with their favorite bands," said Ken Bunt, senior vice president of marketing, Hollywood Records. "Customer feedback was fantastic and we're excited to expand the CDVU+ format to more titles in 2008."
A recent survey was conducted by Hollywood Records of approximately 40,000 CDVU+ album customers. When asked to rate the experience on a scale from one to ten, 95 percent of respondents gave it a seven or higher, with 65 percent rating it a ten. When asked if they would like to see more titles in CDVU+, 95 percent of respondents stated a resounding, "yes."
"Audiences are becoming increasingly connected and accustomed to digital and interactive lifestyles," said Rich Maggiotto, CEO, Zinio. "Hollywood Records is taking the CD to the next level with CDVU+ technology and offering the best of both online and offline to its customers. Zinio is thrilled to help provide a product tailored specifically to this growing digital audience."
In 2008, Hollywood Records plans to expand the CDVU+ technology to additional titles. To continue providing fans the most exciting and interactive music experience, new albums with CDVU+ will include Disney Music Group's Atreyu, Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney, and Vanessa Hudgens.

The Bonus Jonas Deluxe Edition is set for release October 30, and features two new songs, including an exclusive duet with Hannah Montana, a full concert performance, music videos and new photos. Jonas Brothers recently kicked off their sold out tour as special guests of "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds" tour. Jonas Brothers toured the US all summer long to sold out crowds, and recently broke attendance records at the Texas State Fair, reining in epic crowds the fair hasn't seen since Garth Brooks, and drew comparisons to Elvis and The Beatles by the local press.
