DO YOU HAVE A COLOR CRUSH?
Many of us have a color we always include in our quilts. I know I try to add a dash of lime green to most quilts I make. Interestingly, my birthstone is peridot, a lime green stone. Maybe that’s why I love that color so much! I know my color choices are influenced by the seasons. In Iowa we have four distinct weather patterns, and I definitely prefer to work accordingly, using pretty pastels in the spring; jewel-tone batiks in the summer; warm hues like mustard gold, crimson, and rusty orange in the fall; and icy blues in the winter. It’s sometimes a little confusing to me when my friends who live in the southern hemisphere share photos on Instagram of projects they are making in the opposite color combinations! Color trends…
