EAGLE CREEK WILDLIFE AREA ANNOUNCED THE OHIO Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) recently designated the state’s 152nd public wildlife area. The newly purchased parcel in southwest Brown County, which cost approximately $4.1 million, will be known as the Eagle Creek Wildlife Area. The initial purchase of approximately 1,825 acres will be followed by a smaller purchase of 474 acres later this year for a total of 2,299 contiguous acres. The Eagle Creek Wildlife Area will allow hunting, fishing, trapping and wildlife viewing opportunities when it opens to the public fall 2019. CONTROLLED DEER HUNT APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED APPLICATIONS ARE accepted beginning June 1 through the end of July for permit drawings to participate in controlled deer hunts on select Ohio public areas during the 2019-2020 season.
