any wave any way

Power into the line up with our radical wave shapes. The mighty ProWave is a force to be reckoned with, taking on grinding reef breaks with epic acceleration and cranking major turns deep in the pocket. It’s radical wave riding at its best. The Stubby represents a snappy surf style with speed, flow and radical hacks in less than perfect conditions. Easy to use it’s a must for your quiver. For easy entry into wave riding, the AllWave shines with its fuss-free characteristics frothing for your input!…

10ft element sup surf contest

SUNDAY JULY 16 2017 LOCATION: CURRUMBIN BEACH, QLD. With overcast skies, electrical storms and breaching whales out to sea the morning looked like it was going to be an interesting day at the beach. A little left and right peak was found at north end Currumbin beach that with little or no wind made for some nice surfing conditions to suit everyone. Surfing got underway before 7am with the open men's heats first in the water, and from the surfing on show and the comments after the heats it was going to be a good day of surfing, the skies cleared to a bright overcast day and glassy conditions. The girl’s surfed well in the conditions and some charging was had on the set waves by Jac's which was repeated in the open…

I never thought I would leave my stomping ground in Burleigh Gold Coast this was home to my surfboard and paddleboard business for 31 years. It’s where my business all started, it was called home. A new opportunity came up in Currumbin Waters, I was asked if I was interested in the old JM factory, and I was reluctant, and then jumped at the chance. This was the best decision I have ever made. The new factory and show room is located at 1/22 Traders Way Currumbin Waters, it’s one of the coolest little surf/ SUP hubs in Queensland, Australia. My neighbours include the JM, FireWire, Balter Brewery, Alley Designs, Stacey Surfboards, and several custom surf board shops. It’s a great area for customers to cruise around the area talk surf and…

Five individual Queensland champions and six individual community division champions were crowned in the marathon class at day one of the annual two day installment of the Australian Skin Cancer Clinics Immerse SUP & Paddle Festival on the Gold Coast. Gold Coast local Kelly Margetts (Tugun, QLD) took out the Open Men’s Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Queensland Title division while 2016 Champion Karla Gilbert (Palm Beach, QLD) was victorious in the Open Women’s SUP division. A picture perfect Gold Coast winters day saw over 50 competitors line up across both Men’s and Women’s State qualification and community divisions in stand up paddle, prone paddle and ocean ski classes. Kicking off at Rainbow Bay in Coolangatta, competitors made their way up the coast and on to Winders Park in Currumbin to complete…

tasmanian winter sup classic

SURF, SLEET AND SHARKS Australia’s ‘coolest’ SUP event once again lived up to its reputation with 12-degree water temp, 10-degree air temps with a wind chill pushing the apparent temp below 8 degrees for the duration of the contest. Not to be deterred, this year’s competition attracted the largest field so far with over 30 locals and 8 ‘mainlanders’ entering the multiple disciplines across two days of competitions. The weekend had its traditional start with ‘Freesurf’ Friday held on the Tasman Peninsula to allow competitors to fine-tune equipment, adjust to the brass monkey weather and to renew and make new friendships. A small swell and strong ‘devil wind’ meant that many commenced the Tassie SUP sponsored ‘Happy Hour’ a little earlier than planned. The events base was the spectacular and historic ‘Lufra’ apartments…

behind the brand.

STARBOARD. SVEIN RASMUSSEN In 1993, Svein Rasmussen retired from international Windsurf competition after many years following his Olympic dream and competing on the PWA pro circuit. Starboard was then founded in 1994 by Svein where together with Jean Louis Colmus they developed the unique Wood Sandwich Technology and were able to produce significantly lighter and stronger boards than any other manufacturer. The ongoing strive for innovation and quality is what set Starboard apart and down the road to be one of the world’s leaders in design and technology. Some of their early concepts were to make wider, shorter, more user friendly boards, which instantly recognized Starboard as an innovative leader. In 2006 the very first Starboard SUP’s started to appear, where many of the techniques learned through the Windsurf division quickly established Starboard…
