Joseph Ryan-Hicks, social media producer Dimitrifrom Anastasia (1997). I rememberrenting the VHS from our local video rental shop and being transfixed by Dimitri’s boyish “Leo DiCaprio” curtain hairdo (not sure how historically correct that style was for 1920s Russia) and the scene in which he dons a tux. Ah, the wholesome feels… I can be your princess, Dimitri. Thomas Stichbury, features editor Brooding, mysterious and drop-dead gorgeous – emphasis very much on dead – Angel (or bad guy alter-ego Angelus) from Buffy the Vampire Slayer gave me all the tingles. Oh, boy, what I’d still give for him to sink his teeth into me. Or anything else for that matter… Sean Lineker, account manager I had a weird obsession with Tiffany from EastEnders. When she was run over by Frank, I felt my heart break…

editor in chief ’s le›er

Welcome to Attitude’s Sex & Sexuality special edition. It’s been a while since we’ve published an issue themed around gay sex, the last one pre-dating when I joined the magazine five years ago. I deleted the initial editor in chief’s letter that I wrote for this page. In that first piece I pondered how, as gay men, we can have a conflicting relationship with sex, given that many of us have to hide our emotions and lust for other men for years, or even, for those that come out later in life, decades. And even when we’re out and proud we can find ourselves censoring our sexuality. (Aunt Karen is all up in your grill hassling you to take her out clubbing, but let her know the ins and outs around…

VAUXHALL CORSA-E This might be the most significant new car this year. And yet, at first sight, it’s a humble Vauxhall Corsa. But it’s electric, with a range of 209 miles, hence the designation Corsa-e. And its significance comes not because it’s the first electric car money can buy, but because the difference between ordering an electric Corsa versus a petrol or diesel equivalent is the ticking of a box. In every other respect, it’s a normal Vauxhall Corsa. And that’s how you get the mass market to adapt to change. Normal is under-rated. vauxhall.co.uk BANG & STRIKE Underwear is important. The right pair is key for keeping everything in check — and Bang & Strike’s new collection has us, ahem, pant-ing for more. They’ve got briefs for you to work out in, made…

blue monday, tuesday, wednesday…

I’m in lockdown, living with depression, and my house plant Big Ken is dying a slow death from a lack of care. I can barely look after myself, so Ken didn’t stand a chance. But don’t feel sorry for me (or Ken), because this is my truth and I’m OK with it – well, today I am. Tomorrow might be different, because, to be honest, mental health makes no sense. At first, I was loving isolation. The world seemed a little easier. I could work from home, I didn’t have to slay my outfit choices every day and I could basically avoid all social contact without needing to make lame excuses. Previously, in my darkest moments, I’d lost so much confidence I’d cancel trips with friends last minute. I’d be too anxious…

Writer, performer and Beyoncé super-fan Willy Hudson — whose acclaimed coming-of-age theatre show Bottom is being developed for TV – gives us his guide to putting in an un-Bey-lievable performance in the bedroom.
