tough times

LAST MONTH, LARGE parts of the east coast of Australia were devastated by horrific bushfires. Over the course of several weeks, more than 300 blazes were recorded across NSW and Qld, with early figures suggesting more than 350 homes were destroyed and four people killed. It has been estimated the fires in NSW and Qld have destroyed more than one million hectares, with wildlife and flora obliterated. The Rural Fire Services even issued a Catastrophic fire warning in NSW for the first time. It is deeply upsetting for anyone who calls this great country home and brings back bad memories of the horrendous bushfires that flattened parts of Victoria during Black Saturday in 2009. SO MANY OF US LIVE IN RURAL AREAS AND HAVE BEEN EFFECTED BY THESE FIRES For dirtbike riders, the…

top of the goss

ROCKY START TRACK BUILDERS AT the Wollongong ASX round had their work cut out after they were sent soil with too much rock in it on the Thursday before the Saturday event. The trucks were turned around and sent back to get better soil and, by the time the right soil had been delivered, the skid-steer crew had to work through the night to get the track finished. Despite their best efforts, a section of whoops broke down so bad it resembled a piece of flat singletrack. That being said, the racing was still epic and it was awesome to see CDR Yamaha rider Luke Clout stick it to the Yanks. Meanwhile, several morons on the hill at WIN Stadium didn’t get the memo that supercross is a family event and…
