THE PILOT SEASON of the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) has been run and won, all within the production deadline of a single monthly issue of ADB. What was originally three, possibly four rounds, ended up being a two round series. It came to a close in Melbourne's Marvel Stadium last month with four World Champions crowned. German rider Ken Roczen, riding for Yarrive Konsky's Genuine Honda team, is the first WSX champion. THE BIG NEWS out of the USA in the past month or so is Team Factory Honda's Ken Roczen is moving on. Yep, the lead HRC team rider was reportedly offered a supercross-only deal for 2023 but Kenny had other ideas. Further to that, the HRC team is not contesting the World Supercross Championship, which as we know Kenny was racing. So Roczen and the might and power of the US HRC Factory Team parted ways with Roczen joining the Honda Genuine Honda Racing Team for the WSX. What Roczen has planned for 2023 remains to be announced. TRIUMPH MOTORCYCLES HAS confirmed plans to compete in the FIM Motocross World Championship in 2024 with a factory-supported race programme under an all-new Triumph Racing banner. The new Triumph Racing Team will field two of Triumph's all-new 250cc 4-stroke MX bikes in the 2024 MX2 class and will add an entry into the 450cc MXGP class in 2025. Triumph Racing is based at Triumph's Global Headquarters in Hinckley, UK, where the brand's research, design, engineering development and prototype build are located, and the Motocross World Championship team will be based in Holland.
