Photo shoots with our cover stars are often one of the most fun parts of putting The Australian Women’s Weekly together each month. Spending time with some of the amazing women we feature in a relaxed setting and making them look and feel wonderful is a highlight for our team. But our incredible shoot with Rachel Hunter this month is one like no other. For a start it was shot in India! Letter of the month What a fighter Makena Houston is, not only living with a life-limiting condition but going through major surgery. Several years ago my husband died suddenly and the same day, I received a phone call from the transplant team asking if I would consider donating his heart valves and tissue. We also discussed organ donation for medical science. This lady was so compassionate, and acutely aware my loss was so recent. It must be such a difficult phone call to all grieving families. Several months later I received phone calls from the transplant team advising my husband’s heart valves had been transplanted successfully into a 10-year-old girl and 50-year-old man. The Speaker of the House appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside Labour MP Tamati Coffey and his newborn son Tūtānekai to chat about Trevor’s baby-friendly ways.
