There has been a lot of media activity around caravans over the past month. An ACCC report into the industry has received plenty of airplay and has included stories about buyers who have had a very poor caravan buying experience. The report in itself should be a wake up call to anyone in the industry who may have been flaunting the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). The government is set to strengthen laws and start proceedings against retailers and builders who don’t meet their obligations. A caravan is an expensive purchase and there is a lot at stake when the van doesn’t meet expectations.
