the luxury issue

Every year, I sit down to write the Luxury Issue editor’s letter and wax lyrical about how, for me, time is the ultimate luxury. It still is, especially precious time with my two daughters, but this year I’m going to drill down a little further, as I’m inspired by our Luxe List on page 160. Right now I’m renovating my home, so my head (and rental property) is filled with images of beautiful things I want to have in my brand-new place. The list includes a Martine Emdur painting; my family are all water babies, so to have the ocean hanging on a wall would be heaven, as would a Chanel surfboard (wax won’t be going anywhere near it!). I’m also obsessed with Lindsey Adelman lighting, Joseph Diranddesigned kitchens and Bottega…

JAC JAGACIAK The Polish-born Victoria’s Secret Angel flew to Vail in Colorado for BAZAAR’ ski-inspired pre-fall shoot, during which she also managed to squeeze in a cheeky session on the slopes. “I had skied around three or four times before, but never in such amazing conditions,” says Jagaciak. See the model in action on page 116. Luxury to me is … “time. I think having time is the biggest luxury in today’s world — having the possibility to choose how and with whom we will spend it. ”One of the biggest highlights of being a Victoria’s Secret Angel has been … “seeing an enormous picture of me and the other girls in the middle of Times Square”. The last thing I bought for myself was … “a vintage sequinned blouse. I’m still not…

SOCIAL CIRCLE April’s was an issue full of motivation, from world-renowned movie stars (Natalie Portman) to social-media powerhouses (NicoleWarne, Lindy Klim,Amanda Shadforth and Margaret Zhang), showing that the power of women is truly influential, and revealing just how powerful social media is. I’m discovering that myself, as an 18-year-old, using it to display my portfolio, blog and followings to potential employers. Which is exactly what these women, as digital influencers, are doing: hopefully sending a strong message of inspiration to my generation, as our lives are becoming dependent on social media, with most goals and a lot of employment now achieved through or dependent on it. Claudia, New South Wales READER RESPONSE PRIZE The winner of the best reader response published in the August 2016 issue will receive a Clarisonic and Lancôme…

cover star heidi klum

Much like Migos’s 2013 track “Versace” (famously remixed by Drake), Heidi Klum’s wardrobe is brimming with the label, which makes complete sense in many ways — but especially because the supermodel and lingerie entrepreneur has the body for it (and for Roland Mouret and Marchesa, for that matter — brands she also loves). Klum’s off-duty style (read: what she’s photographed in while breezing through LAX airport) consists mainly of very well-fitting Amo jeans (one of her favourite styles is appropriately named the Babe Skinny) and a really great Saint Laurent biker jacket. To sum up, the lady sure knows which wardrobe items to put on high rotation. ON THE COVER Photographed by Rankin. Styled by Thelma McQuillan. Heidi Klum wears Christian Dior vest, $5800; Heidi Klum Intimates slip, $200. Prices approximate. Hair…

wish list

My wardrobe is a study in contrasts. I’ve tried to let go of preconceived notions and just embrace the things I love. A MASCULINE/FEMININE ENERGY [1] lends attitude to any ensemble. I favour pieces that are RELAXED BUT TAILORED [2]. This TOTE [4] is a favourite. I like a BOLD NAIL HUE [3]. This mascara is an instant EYE-OPENER [5]. I can never have enough Sophie Bille Brahe — her aesthetic is so pure, simple and MODERN [6, 14]. I’m perpetually cold, so these SWEATERS [7, 10] are a chic solution to a practical problem. A PLEATED MIDI SKIRT [8] and some LUXURIOUS LOAFERS [9] are on my radar. I can’t resist the ECLECTIC EMBELLISHMENT [11] at Gucci. MARC JACOBS [12] is always great for embracing the unexpected. This SCENT…
