OUR ANNUAL BEAUTY ISSUE creates much debate at BAZAAR HQ, as we know our readers are searching for myriad different things when it comes to their personal regimen. BAZAAR beauty director Eugenie Kelly always starts her story plan by chatting to the team to see what their needs are, as we vary in age and therefore requirements. So I do hope we have you covered. In this issue, you will find our annual FUTURE BEAUTY supplement, which is your ultimate guide to anti-ageing skincare and cosmetic enhancement. We have test-driven teeth-whitening, examined the latest advancements in the battle against wrinkles, included the diary of an eyelid lift, and asked regular BAZAAR contributor Tracey Withers to research what the industry will look like in 2050. There’s truly a brave new world of…

TOM MUNRO The photographer, who shot Cate Blanchett for the cover, has spent his 18-year career capturing a rollcall of Hollywood and music royalty (Madonna, Dustin Hoffman, Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio and Scarlett Johansson, to name but a few). Still, he can’t pinpoint the most intriguing person he has ever shot. “I’ve been fortunate to work with many inspiring and interesting people, all of whom have their own individuality, of course, so it’s hard to name one person in particular. ” The main thing that makes someone beautiful is … “Personality is always top of the list. ” My favourite place in the world is … “home and anywhere I have not experienced before”. I shoot with … “a Leica S2”. MARY GREENWELL “Cate has one of the most versatile faces ever. Everything has…

AUSTRALIAN STORY What a wonderful idea to publish an interview between Carla Zampatti and GG Dame Quentin Bryce [BAZAAR April]. Two wonderful women who represent what this country is about: opportunity for all, and especially women. Carla Zampatti is a wonderful example of what Australia has given to migrant women: the freedom and opportunity to follow your heart and succeed. As a daughter of Italian migrants, like Carla, I have watched my parents work extremely hard in this country and they encouraged me to do the same, as nothing is impossible. I congratulate Carla for her 50 wonderful years in fashion and wish her the very best. She has truly been a success story many Italian migrants and women are proud of — and look up to. CATERINA, NEW SOUTH WALES MEDICALLY SOUND Thank…

cate blanchett

Whether she’s sporting strawberry-blonde finger waves to play an evil stepmother or a razor-sharp bob worthy of an Indiana Jones villain, the actor must have dabbled in just about every kind of ’do under the sun. Still, nothing quite beats her classic look: ice blonde and softly waved, all the better for enhancing Blanchett’s porcelain skin. ON THE COVER Photographed by Tom Munro. Styled by Naomi Smith and Elizabeth Stewart. Cate Blanchett wears Giorgio Armani jacket, $11,935, and pants, $1045; her own ring. All prices approximate. Hair by Renato Campora at The Wall Group; makeup by Mary Greenwell at Premier Hair and Make-up; manicure by Betty Rose at The Artist Group. Recreate Blanchett’s look with Giorgio Armani. On face: Luminous Silk Foundation in #2; Luminous Silk Powder in #2; on cheeks: Sheer…

wish list

I’d describe my style as boy-meets-girl, comfortable and ever-changing. BULLIONY JEWELS (1) are a chic addition to any outfit. I love Tome — this BLACK DRESS (2) is a wardrobe essential. My go-to accessories are EDIE PARKER CLUTCHES (3,4) and a VENYX RING (5). This CLASSIC TRENCH COAT (6) goes with everything. HIGH-WASTED SKIRTS and CROP TOPS (7) are appealing to me right now. A BOOK-STYLE PURSE (9) by Olympia Le-Tan is super cute. I’ve been wearing a lot of blue lately — the shade of this BAG (10) is perfect. My evening look is usually the same as daytime, but with a heel. I’m obsessed with anything CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA (11). My must-have label is The Row — I’d wear these JEANS (13) with some BOOTS (8) and a T-SHIRT…
