It’s not every day that you get a bear hug from one of the most influential people in fashion. I had the privilege of meeting Gucci’s creative director,Alessandro Michele, the day after he presented his resort 2017 collection at London’s Westminster Abbey (yes, it was as incredible as it looks in the pictures), and I can report that the Italian style genius is down-to-earth, warm and knows how to make a journalist instantly relax with his big, warm embrace. Michele is a great talker, too. He is incredibly passionate about what he does at Gucci and his mind is lightning-quick, which helps explain why his collections are always a perfect mishmash of ideas and colour.
