One of my favorite things about spring is that after a long winter of slushy sidewalks and numb toes, I can finally exercise outdoors. Even if you’re a committed gym rat, the allure of fresh-air workouts is undeniable—studies have shown that people who spend time in nature tend to be healthier and happier. Which is why we wanted to help you this season with tons of inspiration to fuel your outdoor adventures. On page 98 you’ll find everything you need to crush your first half marathon, or clock a personal best if you’re already running. Our plan covers nutrition, strength training, and info on the best races in the country—plus, you’ll hear from women who have discovered the therapeutic benefits of running. Also, remember as a kid how fun it…

magnetic lashes

Mascara, falsies, extensions—nowadays, there’s a lash option for everyone, and being a beauty editor, I get to try them all. To free myself from the hassle of applying and removing mascara every day, I tried falsies, but the glue application can be messy. Next, I went for extensions. I loved waking up makeup-free and feeling done, though they are pricey—a good set can start at $100. That’s where these lifesavers come in: Ardell Magnetic Lashes ($14; target.com), which feature an upper and lower band of lashes with tiny magnets along the base that click together, sandwiching your natural lashes in between. To remove, gently pull on the fake lashes to release the magnets. They are dramatic, easy to apply, reusable, and mess-free. Now Read This Living a truly healthy life is all…

blake lively’s post-pregnancy toning trick

The blonde beauty recently revealed that heading back to the gym after giving birth to her second baby helped her shed 61 pounds. One move she relied on: the Single-Arm Single-Leg Romanian Deadlift. “With this movement, you’re balancing on one leg, causing your hip to have to stabilize, as well as working the back, glutes, hamstrings, and core,” says Lively’s trainer, Don Saladino, owner of Drive 495 in New York City.
