THE NAME TO DROP humbert & poyet Chances are that you’re already familiar with two-man-band Emil Humbert and Christophe Poyet by way of the boutique Hoxton Hotel group. Responsible for the much ’grammed bedrooms of the group’s Parisian outpost, the pair’s ‘luxury meant for everyday living’ philosophy can be seen across the hotel’s mix of chevron timber floors, Jean Prouvé furniture and leather buckle headboards. Look at the duo’s wider portfolio and a winning formula presents itself: fine materials (marble, lacquered walnut and polished brass) married with Art-Deco influences (check out the recently opened 8th Arrondissement Beefbar for an Art Deco/Nouveau mash-up in historical surroundings), tapping into the current appetite for spaces with feet firmly placed in both the past and present.
