One of the questions we always ask the quilters we interview for Meet the Maker is ‘How would you describe your quilting style today?’. And very often, they’ll come back with an answer along the lines of ‘I don’t really have a particular style’. Which is something I totally relate to! There are some quilters – particularly when they’re in business and are marketing a brand – who totally fit in a certain niche. TRIANGULATE IT This fun, beginner-friendly quilt consists of one block, repeated and shuffled systematically to create the perception of rhythmic movement. It’s one thing to have a quilt design on paper or as a computer file, but there’s a lot more work to turn it into a quilt and pattern. As a reminder, this was the final design my client settled on for her quilt in last issue. I tend to get carried away as I get closer to finishing a design, and my measurements can get a bit sloppy or out of proportion, so the first thing I do is check these and then figure out if I can construct the blocks sensibly.
