now is the time

I RECKON AUTUMN is my favourite season of the year in which to get outside and explore our great country. The heavy heat of summer has – usually – dissipated by end of March and being out all day doesn’t mean you’re going to get burnt to a crisp, so you can just focus on having an awesome time. Usually for me this time of year means planning of more adventures through winter and spring, but this year I have decided to just sit back and take what comes in terms of adventure opportunities. Life is very structured these days, and has to be to an extent (especially with two kids under six!) when you think of family and work commitments, but it doesn’t mean you cannot dream of that next…

Since then, I have been on a 12-day hiking expedition and received a subscription to your magazine for my birthday. I love going with my family and friends to explore local tracks and bush walks use the trails to train for my longer hiking trips. I am currently planning my next big adventure…I will be turning 16 whilst on a 21 day course in New Zealand! It will be my fi rst time trekking internationally…

indigenous tourism booms in nsw

Indigenous operators can mix in both the awesome culture and history of the region as well as the adventures. THE INDIGENOUS tourism industry in NSW is growing at an incredibly fast rate, with record numbers of toursts undertaking an Aboriginal tourism experience in the state, and now news that six more Indigenous tourism operations have started up. In the year ending September 2016, more than 394,000 international and domestic visitors participated in an Aboriginal tourism experience in NSW – an incredible result and up 50 percent on the previous year. It is estimated that this injects $1.14 billion into the NSW economy. Besides this economic growth, the encouraging news is that the state’s rich indigenous history and culture is now being more recognised by both visitors and state government bodies. snow season accommodation for all budgets

IT’S COMING: yep, we’ve borrowed one of the most-overused clichés to say that winter is nearly here so it is time to start planning for your big snow trip – and try and find suitable accommodation that doesn’t break the bank, but is convenient. Discovery Parks is a nationwide tourist park organisation that has a fantastic park located in Jindabyne, right in the heartland of the NSW snow fields. The park offers not only the convenience of being located in the town itself, allowing easy access to shopping and dining, but it is also only a 30-minute drive to ski fields such as Thredbo, Perisher and Smiggin Holes. The accommodation options range from budget through to luxury, making it quite appealing; there is a mix of cabins, villas, bunkrooms, and caravan and…
