issue 39 spring 2018 10th birthday!

“Hope acknowledges pain and suffering, ups and downs, setbacks and challenges, then is the kick up the backside to believe in – and achieve – something better” For ten minutes the room was heavy with thought, filled with nothing but the sound of 30 or so business owners and entrepreneurs scribbling words and crossing them out again. We’d been asked by the conference speaker to write a word – one word only – that completely and comprehensively embodies and defines our businesses. it’s our 10th birthday!

I believe that Peppermint has always been a leader in the print media of our time. When Peppermint began there were few magazines you could pick up that would not only inspire you to live aligned with your values, but also show you how, either through supporting the makers and companies doing good in the world or how to make sustainable and meaningful shifts yourself - and always done with such beauty and grace. It has been such a honour to partner with Peppermint over the years and I look forward to more meaningful adventures. Peppermint has always been one of my #happyplaces. Kelley, Rebecca and the team, I raise a kombucha to you all. - Kemi Nekvapil, Coach, speaker and author Peppermint magazine restored my hope that in amongst the very…

dear peppermint

Dear Peppermint, The arrival of our little girl five weeks ago has made for a lot of adjustments and sleepless nights. This new life has also given me much to reflect on in terms of raising a little person, the future and the world we choose to create and be part of. I’m so grateful this magazine exists to showcase the work and philosophy of so many amazing people and companies making the world a more sustainable and mindful place for future generations. – Lucy and baby Harriet Dear Peppermint, I’ll never forget the day we first met. On my day off work,…

Tell us about the podcast… It offers tools for living with mindfulness, heartfulness and meaning, illuminating the habits of leaders in the wellbeing industries – yoga, meditation, natural health, ethical living, community building and everything in between. What inspired you to start it? For years I was disconnected from myself. I was in the throes of mental illness, desperately looking for answers to make me feel whole; I was numb, ashamed and itchy with nervous self-loathing. I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression, and realised I needed to make a commitment to rebuilding my life with wellbeing at the core… Slowly but surely, my inner and outer worlds transformed. I see so much disconnection in our daily lives. We have an insatiable appetite to fill our lives with stuff and then look to…
