US PRESIDENT Joe Biden hosted a summit of more than 45 African leaders, in Washington, DC, from December 13 to 15, in what critics say is a new scramble for the continent.
Washington was set to woo Africa, rekindling a relationship that has seen the US and much of the West lag behind China as the most influential trading, development and political partner in Africa.
