four shows in one location at the same time? ridiculous.

I’VE RACKED MY BRAIN and cannot think of a single person that would have benefited from the recent clashing shows on the Gold Coast. It needs to stop. The game has gone on long enough and no one is winning. It’s not a draw, everyone is losing. Exhibitors are complaining of the lost opportunities of being limited to one place, or higher costs to be at both, and the public is missing out on the chance to properly see what is on display. Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) reported over 41,000 visitors to their show and Gold Coast International Marine Expo (GCIME) claim over 20,000 attended theirs. Would one have pulled 60,000? No, there will have been people that went to both, but I am convinced both would have done…

At the Seawind dealer conference in Vietnam, Multihull Central was announced as this year’s Seawind International Dealer of the Year. “Multihull Central has shown great innovation and continues to be a strong performer,” said Richard Ward, Seawind and Corsair Managing Director. “This was a real honour,” said Brent Vaughan, MD of Multihull Central. “It’s very exciting to see what’ happening with Seawind and Corsair. “The company has set itself up in a central location in an emerging market, and has assembled a talented team of expat managers and local skilled staff that will break new ground. suzuki marine warns about fraudulent websites

Suzuki Marine and The Haines Group are urging consumers to deal directly with their local Suzuki Marine dealer when purchasing an outboard motor from their range after a number of scam websites were reportedly selling unauthorised motors. Suzuki Marine is aware of consumers who have been misled or deceived after purchasing a motor from questionable websites and have not received any goods in return. Sean Allen, Suzuki Marine’s national marketing manager Aust/NZ, says most of these sites are offering deals too good to be true. “These websites, while they look legitimate, are not affiliated with Suzuki Marine in any way and are unlikely to have genuine Suzuki outboards on sale, if any stock at all,” Allen said. “Unfortunately we (The Haines Group), on behalf of Suzuki Marine, are unable to offer any warranty, free…

rivergate wind at aimex

Rivergate Marina and Shipyard was named 2016 Business of the Year in the Superyacht sector at the recent Marine Export, Superyacht and Commercial Marine Awards, hosted by AIMEX-Superyacht Australia at Sanctuary Cove. Buoyed by a federal government initiative to develop a specialised facility to cater to the growing number of international vessels coming to Queensland, Rivergate is considered one of the premier refit and berthing facility in the southern hemisphere, according to its international superyacht specialist, Steve Fisher. Rivergate services around 40 superyachts and other vessels each year, many gong north to the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef. Fisher said the recognition is a just reward for the full-time staff and 280 marine specialists who rely on Rivergate for work.…
