variety is the very spice of life!

That gives it all its flavour. What gets you itching to get hitching? Is it the destination or the journey? Personally, it’s the destination I hanker for. I really enjoy getting to my resort early, setting up camp, and watching the new arrivals filter in. It’s a treat to see the variety of different camping units lined up at my resort. They say the test of any marriage or relationship is meeting the in-laws, but after my years of travelling, I have come to the realisation that it can be just as testing setting up camp with an older model caravan, motorhome or trailer. I presume the goal of any other camping family, like mine, is to set up a campsite in the most efficient way and as quickly as possible because the longer…

south africa’s caravan of the year™ 2019

WOW! What an exciting year it has been for caravanning in southern Africa. This year, I would like to doff my hat, with the greatest respect, to all the caravans that came in the top 10 of our Caravan of the Year™ competition. Thank you for moulding this industry into what it is today. It certainly is a fun, enjoyable, and most of all exciting ride. All of which comes with a sweat-free set-up time of 5-10 minutes or less. Outdoor fun for the whole family. Unequivocally, it was the Conqueror lovers of southern Africa that made the most noise about their beloved Commander models. And as you read on, you’ll soon see why they’re a hard act to follow, and tough as leather too. Travel anywhere you want – and more!…

conqueror commander

Viktor I have had my Commander for just over a year. Although it’s an older model, everything works and after 3 000km I have not had any issues. The Conqueror team are always helpful, pleasant, and always make themselves available to handle queries. Living in an estate where space is at a premium, this is a compact little caravan that has all the bells and whistles and is easy to store. Nicola van der Westhuizen The Commander is our home away from home. It has all the comfort and space you need. What a pleasure it is to set up and it only takes minutes. Before you know it, you have a cold one in your hand and the weekend’s fun and relaxation can start! The kitchen is such a pleasure, with utensils…

mobi lodge

Peter Alexander Barclay Complete all-in-one package that’s easy to tow and super quick to set up. I enjoy the fact that only quality components have been installed, from AGM deep-cycle batteries, solar charger inverters and controllers, microwave ovens, water pump, battery charger, and aircon. The 4mm thick chassis on a hot-dipped galvanised frame re-assures me that I can go 4×4 off-roading without the fear of breakdowns while touring neighbouring countries with the Toyota group. These reassuring factors make my choice of a Mobi Lodge caravan the reason that my investment grows in value, while I still get to enjoy my home away from home. Frans Human My reasons for saying the Mobi Lodge is the best can be summarised as follows: • It is truly a 5-star en suite room and at night you…

conqueror companion

Annelie van der Westhuizen Strength! Nothing can be compared to the Companion. Secondly, I absolutely love the kitchen, which has more space than you can imagine. I don’t even need the boxes at the back. And, I always thought the Jurgens Palma had a lot of space. No way, my Companion is number one. Hanneline The open kitchen with a door at the back means no passing through the kitchen. There is so much space inside the caravan and it is so easy to pack up and leave on an adventure. It is great for kids to move in and out, with steps at the door that flip up and down. It has the perfect closet for kids on only one side of the caravan, which means it stays neat and is easy…
