I’m determined to get my Christmas cards made and sent early this year, and with all the wonderful creations in this issue I’m set to go! Q: I have seen cards that have reversed impressions of the stamp designs on them, I would love to know how to achieve this please? A: Yes you can reverse your stamped images, it’s a lot of fun and very easy to do! See the steps below to get you started. Step 1 Stamp your image on your card as normal, leave room for your reverse image on the other side. Step 3 Turn the acetate over and place it down next to your previous stamp image, be careful not to move it as it may smudge. Press all over the image using a bone scorer to transfer all the ink. Remove the acetate. Step 2 Stamp the image again on acetate using Memento tuxedo ink or a slow drying ink pad. Don’t use StazOn inks as…

teal, brown and a touch of gold

MATERIALS FOR ALL CARDS • Card: brown • Paper: Kasiercraft Coastal Escape netting • Flowers: Petaloo textured elements burlap teal poinsettias • Gold glitter alphabet stickers • Adhesives: double-sided tape, glue • Idea: Use teal as a colour alternative to the traditional Christmas green. Peace METHOD 1 Layer netting paper 100mm x 140mm on the front of folded brown card 230mm x 145mm in the bottom section, with even borders showing on the sides and bottom edges. 2 Adhere gold alphabet stickers to the lower portion of the card front to spell ‘peace’ 3 Glue a teal poinsettia flower above the word on the right-hand side. 4 Use two small circles from the alphabet sheet in the top left-hand corner of the card as shown. TIP Use apostrophes and explanation dots as circle embellishments. Ho Ho METHOD 1 Measure 85mm from the left-hand side of brown card…

Sponging the edges of a die-cut 1 Die-cut your image using a ‘tan’ mat and layers following the manufacturers’ instructions. 2 Leave the die in place with the blade facing downwards, sponge around the outer edges using chalks or an ink pad. 3 Remove the die to reveal the outcome. Applying Texture Paste 1 Secure card and stencil to your workspace with low-tack or washi tape. 2 Spread the texture paste across the stencil evenly using a spatula. 3 Gently peel the stencil away from the card and let it dry. Copic Feathering Technique 1 Hold the marker on an angle, touch the tip to card then flick it outwards easing off at the end. 2 Create a block of colour with a feathered edge as shown. 3 Repeat on the opposite side using a different shade (but similar in density…
