Nintendo has given a first glimpse of its next-gen games machine, which works as both a high-end home console and a portable handheld. Previously codenamed NX, the Nintendo Switch looks like a tablet with modular controls. But it can also connect with your TV via a docking station, while the controllers can also be removed. Crucially, Nintendo says that the Switch will be able to run sophisticated games even in portable mode. 5 ways to play with the switch
01 Play at home When at home the Switch can be used like a conventional console: games are displayed on your TV, while the Switch sits in the docking device nearby and the player uses the Joy-Con Grip or Pro Controller, which resembles an ordinary handheld gamepad. 02 Hit the road When you’re on the move, you can resume the game you were playing at home from where you left off.
