your joys of spring

Thank heavens! Though winter has certain fabulous things going for it, I’m definitely more of a spring and summer girl, and I really love this time of year – especially the longer days and sense of warmer months to come. There are delicious ingredients to savour, such pretty clothes to buy and the unmistakable scent of fresh grass and blooming flowers in the air. To welcome the season and inspire you to get the most out of it, the team has been hard at work – developing new recipes, creating some truly fantastic floral arrangements and putting gorgeous new looks together. SHELLEY BLISS-TOMLINSON The kindest thing a stranger did for me was pay for my shopping when I had forgotten…

Yet, at 84, Mary shows no sign of slowing down. Not even a whiff! Mary’s back on our screens and shelves this month, fronting a new TV series and book of fast recipes, Mary Berry’s Quick Cooking. We’ll get to see Mary casting her eye over tagine-cooking techniques in Marrakech, negotiating the roads of Rome on the back of a scooter, and even stealing the show playing drums with singer Rick Astley at a music festival. Today on our shoot, however, it’s her working cocker spaniel Darcey who’s stealing the show, charming everyone with her big brown eyes and chocolatecoloured coat.…
