If you have multiple Macs to upgrade, it’s a lot more efficient to plug in the USB installer drive and run the installer than to log into the App Store, download the 6.5GB OS installer, and then run it. Find out if your Mac’s software is 32- or 64-bit

MacOS 10.14 Mojave, the version of the Mac operating system before Catalina, is the last one to support 32-bit software. With Catalina, only 64-bit software will be supported. Now that it’s here, you need to do a bit more than usual to prepare your Mac. You need to make sure your apps are 64-bit versions. If a program is a 32-bit version, it will not work.
