The first issue of Tatler Hong Kong appeared on newsstands and in the hands of modish elites in 1977, the same year that the infamous Studio 54 opened in New York—the exclusive discotheque where like-minded creatives and forward thinkers such as contemporary artist Andy Warhol and writer Truman Capote convened for fun. Similarly, Tatler Malaysia’s Studio 54-themed relaunch party at the Sapphire ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental hotel gathered influential individuals from various fields like fashion, science and culture—leading the start of a New Asia in glamorous disco-inspired ensembles. The event saw our friends catching up with one another after picking up scented hand sanitisers from Bath & Body Works (a necessary safety precaution!) before making their way to the Tatler photo wall featuring our newly designed logo plus another round of…
