Peeling skin: This is normal in babies born past their due date, and clears up in a couple of weeks. Baby Acne: Pimples usually disappear within a few weeks, and are known to be caused due to yeast. No treatment is needed. Eczema: An itchy rash may appear on the face or body, in response to a trigger, and is common in children who have a family history of asthma, allergies, or atopic dermatitis. Use a mild soap and apply moderate amounts of moisturizers. More severe eczema may need medical intervention. Cradle cap: Also called seborrheic dermatitis, it appears as crusty patches of scaly skin on your baby’s scalp and may be caused by too much oil.
