Andrew Ferren This US journalist studied art history and worked at prestigious galleries such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York before moving to Madrid and starting to write. This issue, he explores the home of Spanish antiques dealer Lorenzo Castillo (page 98). “I’m a huge fan of Lorenzo’s design work and as a resident of Madrid for nearly 15 years, I’ve seen his skills become even more refined as he has tackled new projects,” says Ferren. “But his spectacular home is perhaps his ongoing masterpiece and laboratory of ideas.” Sharyn Cairns Melbourne-based photographer Cairns has worked for a range of Australian and international magazines and shot the images for ‘Flack Magic’ (page 55), our story on designer David Flack. “It’s always great to be in other creatives’ spaces, to see…

I’ve yet to meet Lindsey Adelman personally but when — not if — I do, I think we’ll get along just fine. Quite apart from her groundbreaking lighting designs that magically fuse the classic with industrial (I first fell in love with her Cherry Bomb pendants at Milan’s Nilufar Depot), the New York-based designer’s attitude resonates with me. “I like homes designed for living,” says Adelman (page 90), “so you’re not doing anything wrong if you’ve got the dining table full of making Christmas cards.” Hallelujah.
