Better than one of those Tourist Trains found in most cities and good to see a classic still working for a living! So if you find yourself in Hamburg, check them out! And if T3s are your thing, prepare for a veritable feast this issue! You know what they say about buses - wait for ages for one then three arrive at once – well it’s true this time! the rebirth of a samba

f you haven’t been to northern Sweden it is hard to believe how remote this bus was parked after its last journey. In fact the wasteland is so big that you could place the entire county of Rutland in it - and never find it again! The land belonged to a man who by accident found a couple of abandoned lodges built from old buses that stood in the perimeter of his property near the Polar Circle. He contacted his friend Magnus Jonsson in the autumn of 2007, whom he knew was interested in old cars in general and especially old VW buses. Magnus recalls, “He told me that one of them had some peculiar windows in its ceiling - might I be interested in such? I Definitely, I answered!…

New Classic Wheels From Jk Just Kampers are now producing deep dish “smoothie” wheels (with a deeper profile) and also some Porsche-style wheels. Each one is made from the best quality steel to the exact original specifications, meaning that every dimension and every little detail is a perfect reproduction of the original wheel. They’re then painted in a really nice silver finish, ready to be painted or chromed to suit your vehicle. These new deep dish wheels are the latest in a long line of products JK has set out to manufacture itself, and the team couldn’t be happier with the results. The wheels available in different sizes, to suit different vehicles and styles: the deep dish smoothies come in 10 x 15 – 4 x 130 or 10 x 15 – 5…

living the high life

ordan Hannibell is sixfoot, six inches tall, a Bay High Roof Delivery Van measures sevenfoot, six inches from the point where its tyres touch the ground to the tip of its fibreglass reinforced, polyester roof - the two were destined to meet. J Jordan’s first glimpse of the Bus he has named Helga (explanation forthcoming shortly) came on 1st June 2015; a Monday and his birthday! The High Roof had been manufactured in June too, on the tenth of the month in 1974 ... a Monday. Her destination was Sweden and the army, where she served as a radio van. Hardly renowned as one of the warmest of countries, the spec included an Eberspächer heater and hot air outlets at the front of the cargo compartment, while conceivably challenging roads demanded heavy…

bus doctor

Got a problem or a query? Email info@volkswagencamper.co.uk Address Bus Doctor, VW Camper & Commercial, The Old School Higher Kinnerton Chester CH4 9AJ Perished Brake Servo Bellows Dear Bus Doctor, I’ve just got a quick question. I’ve been under the bus (a 66 11 window Split) this afternoon and noticed a split in the rubber bellows on the front of the brake servo, will this cause me any problems? If so what do I do about it can I just leave it or would you advise me to replace it? Jamie Gardener You certainly shouldn’t ignore it. Dust covers are there for a reason to stop dirt and grit getting into your servo thus possibly causing it to fail. Whether to replace or repair depends how bad it’s split. If just a small split then…
