Leafing through previous copies of our magazine, I happened upon last February’s editor’s letter, written by our editorial director Sarah Spiteri. In it, she expressed how she believed that the shift towards seeing our homes as sanctuaries was a permanent one. Twelve months on and, indeed, home continues to be unprecedentedly important as a place of comfort. And at the same time, it has perhaps never before been under such scrutiny – with particular attention on small rooms that aren’t quite fulfilling their potential. Hence, this issue’s theme. We focused the minds of our favourite interior designers, stylists and experts on helping the H&G team create a style bible for compact but beautiful spaces – both indoors and out.
