Is it the knife-edge ridgelines, super-steep chutes and ridiculous cliff drops of Red Bull Rampage, or the technical trickery of slopestyle? Is it carving solo lines down unridden terrain in remote lands, or busy bike-park sessions with mates? Is it North Shore woodwork or pristine dirt jumps? It’s all of those, and more – and it’s also one of the fastest-evolving and most exciting areas of mountain biking, which is why we’ve devoted a chunk of this issue to it.
