The actor, 51, stars in Crackle's scripted series Snatch, loosely based on Guy Ritchie's 2000 film of the same name What made you want to do this new series? I loved the film because it was very different from what anyone else was doing at the time. For this, I was just blown away by the characters and thought, "I've got to be involved." Baby Jessica & Other Icons When 18-month-old Jessica McClure fell down a well in Midland, Texas, on Oct. 14, 1987, I was living in Abilene, about 150 miles east, working for the local paper. It seemed like everything in Texas stopped for more than two days while we watched the massive rescue effort, not knowing if "Baby Jessica" would survive the ordeal. CNN provided round-the-clock coverage, so the rest of the world joined our vigil; after Jessica was rescued, she landed on the cover of People. In this issue's feature "Amazing Survivors," we catch up with Jessica, now 30 and married, with two kids of her own. Other "Amazing Survivors" stories include Austin Hatch, the extraordinarily resilient young man who survived two plane crashes that killed his family, and Stephanie Decker,…

For March 13, 2017 'What an incredible story and person. Congrats, Viola!' Carole F. via people.com Viola Davis Thank you for putting Viola Davis on the cover of People magazine! She is one of Hollywood's most amazing actors. Beautiful and yet humble. Cruz Nelson via e-mail I didn't think it was possible to like Viola Davis any more than I already did, but after your article I do. Vicki Surges Duluth, Minn. Wonderful and very deserving! Kudos, Viola! Sabra J. via people.com Ricki Lake Ricki Lake's story really hit home for me. I too had an ex-husband who committed suicide. Like Ricki, I walked on eggshells and tried to save him. Eventually I realized I couldn't and had to save myself and our very young daughter. Thank you for publishing her story. Ann Halpern via e-mail Bill Paxton I was beyond words when I…
