what it’s like to photograph celebrities

Coming from small-town America and moving my business to Paris, France made a huge difference in the types of people I photographed. Back home in suburbia, I worked with normal everyday families and couples. I loved working with all types of people from different backgrounds but my career took me to the city of light and with it came a new genre of clients. Paris attracts all kinds of people and most celebrities have visited at some point in their lives. It’s important to capture photos of celebrities for media promotion and to advertise events all over the city. Keep in mind that people remember 80 percent of the things they see and process images about 60,000 times faster than text! As we all know, viewing images can produce emotional experiences and…

Cropping portraits correctly makes a big difference to how your subject looks and to the overall impact of the image. So, in this article, I’ll run you through some dos and don’ts for your portrait crops. It’s useful in a number of situations but tends to have a ‘love it or loathe it’ reaction tied to it – images can look overly surreal and unrealistic. This is fine if you’re going for a deliberate fantastical look to your images but care needs to be taken if you want natural looking shots. In this article we’ll look at how to create HDR images and the technical skills you will need. WHAT IS HDR? High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photography is a post production technique whereby multiple exposures of the same scene are combined into one image. The idea is that the final image will give you a shot that is…

video tutorial what is hdr photography & what is high dynamic range?

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create HDR in Lightroom. To create a Lightroom HDR image you need multiple exposures of the same thing. You will need a minimum of three exposures, one underexposed, one correctly exposed and one overexposed. Then you use HDR software to merge these exposures into one and thus bringing all that tonal range between the three exposures into one. This way each pixel in your image has a lot more information to play with.
