Climate change is already reducing the yields of the world’s top 10 crops: barley, cassava, maize, oil palm, canola, rice, sorghum, soya bean, sugar cane and wheat.
A study by the University of Minnesota in the US, in collaboration with the University of Oxford in the UK and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, found that the impact of climate change on global food production was mostly negative in Europe, Southern Africa and Australia.
