Apple’s Chief Design Officer, Sir Jonathan Ive, is to leave the company and set up on his own. However, “Apple will continue to benefit from Jony’s talents by working directly with him on exclusive projects, and through the ongoing work of the brilliant and passionate design team he has built,” said CEO Tim Cook.
According to some reports, Ive’s company, LoveFrom, will actually be based in Apple’s new HQ, Apple Park, in Cupertino, which Ive was deeply involved in designing alongside architect Norman Foster. (The concave, brushed-aluminium lift buttons are said to resemble iPhone Home buttons.)
