PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa should once again declare the country a state of disaster. Not because of Covid, but for the fact that we are in a state of disaster.
The South African Revenue Service is about the only government-run body that I can think of that is performing well.
The rest, including the government at all levels, Eskom, SAA, Denel, the Post Office, Home Affairs, the Department of Health, the police, Transnet and so on are suffering from rapid transformation, and lack of discipline, accountability and good leadership.
Crime is on the increase, with more and more sophisticated crime syndicates and mafia-type groups attacking our way of life and assets. People are raped and murdered and the crimes have become common place.
