This year, I resolve to eat more cornbread. It sounds simple enough, for sure, but as the days and weeks go by, as meals and snacks and weekends and holidays start to blur together, I’m sure I’ll need to remind myself of this. We all need a little nudge sometimes to get us out of our regular routines, and the beginning of a new year is as good a reason as any, isn’t it? With two young kids, my wife and I are always bouncing between the comforting meals expected and the desire to shake things up a bit.
