The cool, crisp afternoons of autumn beckon us to teatime. As verdant leaves turn golden hues for a perfect backdrop, nature yields a plethora of pumpkins, squashes, and gourds to embellish tables and sideboards and to feature in bite-size morsels, both savory and sweet. Our “Autumn Splendor” afternoon tea highlights the sights and tastes of this glorious season, beginning on page 21. October need not only be associated with harvest and Halloween, however.
