Anni Albers may have hit recent headlines with her show at Tate Modern, but names such as Ruth Hollos and Etel Fodor are the stuff of footnotes. There are two reasons for this. After the Bauhaus closed in 1933, German women were forcibly recast as mothers and homemakers.
