LNER names new CAF fleet ‘Serenza’
LNER has revealed interior design details for its new Class 897 trains which are being built by CAF, as well as giving the new fleet a name.
CAF is building 10 new tri-mode trains, able to operate in electric, battery or diesel mode, which will be named ‘Serenza’ - a reference to peacefulness and calm, but also energy, movement, and modernity, says LNER.
The new fleet will help support and accommodate strong demand for rail travel on the East Coast Main Line.
