suzuki goes grand touring

Suzuki has revealed its new GSXS1000GT sports-tourer. The new GT is based on the GSX-S1000 that was updated earlier this year, and utilises the same 150bhp litre-capacity inline four-cylinder engine. However, the GT gets a full touring makeover to make the bike worthy of its Grand Touring title. Suzuki says that the tall screen and wind-cheating bodywork reduce rider fatigue; a plush rider’s seat is complemented by a comfortable pillion pad with easily-reached grab rails and ample legroom; while the optional hard luggage can accommodate full face helmets, ensuring the GT makes light work of two-up touring. A comprehensive electronics suite comprises a plethora of rider aids, performance-enhancing systems, and creature comforts to boost the GT’s touring ability, including a 6.5-inch colour TFT dash with smartphone connectivity, cruise control, a bi-directional quickshifter…

updates for honda’s a2 trio

Honda’s A2 licence-friendly 500cc lineup, CB500F, CBR500R and CB500X, get updated for 2022. The CB500F and CBR500R get the Showa 41mm SFF-BP USD forks from their bigger CB650R and CBR650R stablemates, as well as lighter Y-spoke aluminum wheels, complete with new dual 296mm wavy front discs and radial mounted Nissin calipers. The adventure focused CB500X shares the same new brake and suspension updates as its siblings, and adds to that longer front suspension travel and a lighter, larger 19in front wheel. All three machines feature a new lighter swingarm. The 500cc engine that powers all three bikes still produces the maximum 35kW allowed for the A2 licence holder, but for 2022 it now features new PGM-FI settings to further enhance both torque feel and overall character. welcome to the big league

There are bikes that you instantly love or hate, and there are those that require a bit longer for you to form a balanced opinion. Given that the new BMW R18 B is a laid-back, easy-riding bagger, it’s natural that it falls in the latter category. The B is not the type of bike that I often ride, so the first 50 miles I was just getting used to the Harleyesque feel and recalibrating my brain to not worry if the revs didn’t go north of 2k very often.
