“I love a lady’s tuxedo,” says Dominic Lacquaniti. “In a sea of dresses, it shows power and confidence. When a lady walks in wearing a tuxedo, all heads turn.” The son of Rocco’s Tailor Shop founder Rocco Lacquaniti, who opened the Naples business in 1968, the younger Lacquaniti recalls attending a gala with a tuxedo-clad woman years ago and noticing the stir it caused. “She wore it with a white shirt, red lips, and her hair pulled back, and I knew I had something. Whether on invitations or menus, embroidered linens or save-the-date cards, the trend with matrimonial monogramming is artistic personalization. “What we’re seeing right now are brides creating what I call a custom crest around one or two initials,” says Laura Melges, owner of Monogram Goods in Naples (monogramgoods.com). “Once I show them this type of thing—that they can include their pet or favorite sport or flowers or whatever’s important to the couple—they’re onboard.
