At this early hour, I’m the only one who sees this act of kindness, and I wonder if he knows how much the residents here appreciate it, how there are neighbors who need the convenience of a newspaper delivered to the threshold of their door or the eave of their porch, a welcome arrival. THE FEBRUARY ARTICLE “The Blizzard of 1960” (page 132) brought memories flooding back. The lead photo is especially poignant to me. Although the photo is in black and white, I can recognize the 1957 Plymouth Belvedere four-door sedan at the far right. Our family car was a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere four-door sedan. I don’t know how many similar cars were in the area at the time, but that could be our father driving down West King Street. Miles Preston Hughes III WICHITA, KANSAS CONGRATULATIONS TO PHILIP GERARD ON HIS STORY “The Blizzard of 1960.” I was touched with emotion when I read that George Trivett, a janitor at Appalachian State Teachers College (now Appalachian State University), was killed delivering heating coal to my dorm, Justice Hall. I lived in Justice my junior year.…

ASHEVILLE You remember the thrill of the hunt: The way your heart skipped a beat when your eye caught a pop of color in the grass. The rattle of something sweet inside plastic shells, or the look of swirling pastel dyes on real ones. During Biltmore’s annual Easter egg hunt, one of the largest in the Southeast, hundreds of children experience that same timeless joy as they fill their baskets — and their hearts. Biltmore’s annual Easter egg hunt will be held on April 12. (800) 411-3812, biltmore.com…
