INGREDIENTS MAKES 20 CHURROS ½ cup 2% milk½ cup water6 tbsp unsalted butter1 tbsp brown sugar¼ tsp salt1 cup all-purpose flour3 large eggs¾ cup granulated sugar1 tbsp cinnamon DIRECTIONS Combine the milk, water, butter, brown sugar and salt in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook until the butter and brown sugar have melted and the mixture just comes to a boil; remove from the heat. Add the flour and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a smooth ball of dough that pulls away from the sides of the saucepan. Transfer the batter to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Tabletop tips Start with a neutral background. We went with a solid white picnic blanket and added cushions for seating. The blue woven table runner captures the aesthetic of the scene.
