‘Geo’ coasters DESIGNER: Amy Lyttle of Amindy It all started with a friend purchasing a laser-cutting machine. “As soon as he mentioned it, I was already thinking about what I could make,” says Amy. Now this Melbourne-based designer sets to work laser-cutting plywood and acrylic sheeting to create her ‘Geo’ range of coasters and other accessories. “Each sheet of material is utilised to minimise waste. I use the ‘waste’ area, or what I call the ‘pastry offcuts’ for the smaller products within our range,” says Amy. Looking at the coasters, it’s clear that she pays close attention to colour – the blush, navy blue and black tones are lit up with metallic details.
