One of the greatest things about apps is that you don’t have to carve out time in your day to use them; you can check off your to-do items in your downtime, on your way to work, in line for coffee, or during Parks and Recreation commercial breaks. around the iphone life office

Rheane, Associate Editor: No matter how many times I tell myself I’m going to start working out, I end up getting too busy. This year I plan on using CARROT Fit ($2.99) to get back in shape. Its workouts are intense but quick, and the app’s snarky encouragement will be just what I need to stay motivated. Sarah, Web Editor: I’ve been using the Pedometer++ app (free) to build the habit of moving more throughout the day. This app simply counts your steps, but it’s made a big difference for me. I went from a maximum of three thousand steps to over eight thousand per day after installing it on my phone. David, CEO: I just started using Plant Nanny (free) to keep an eye on my daily water intake—it’s like Farmville…
